Bearing Assembly Replacement

Patio sliding doors (and some window systems) utilize a three-part mechanical assembly for both ability to move and ability to adjust to our ever-shifting homes. This assembly is typically comprised of a wheel (with ball bearings) and a lifting cam (to be used for adjustment purposes). If either component fails you are left with the same result: a very hard to move door. This is not only inconvenient but a potential safety hazard. Hollow Metal Doors

The Door Expert offers a complete line of standard and specialty hollow metal doors to fit your architectural needs. Our doors are available in 20, 18, 16, & 14 gauge cold rolled and galvanized steel and come with a ¾-inch cell honeycomb core as standard, providing every door with a smoother, flatter, and stronger door. All doors are manufactured from stretcher level quality steel and are thoroughly cleaned and phosphatized inside and out offering excellent corrosion resistance and paint adhesion.

Double-Swing Doors

Double acting traffic doors allow you to speed the movement of your personnel or materials between two areas in your building by eliminating the stop, open, move through and manually close actions that a traditional single, one-way swing door requires. There are no door levers or knobs to turn, the door opens easily in both directions with a hand push or when impacted by a hand truck, pallet jack or even forklift and then automatically returns to its closed position after you have passed through the opening.

Special-Lite Doors

Get the Appearance of New Framing Without Removing the Old Frame!

The Special-Lite SL-70 Capping System can be used with the 10-30 Series Insert Frame to completely cover rusted or deteriorated framing in place. Because old framing does not have to be removed, you save the time and expense of not only frame removal and disposal, but also any necessary repairs to adjoining walls and floors damaged during frame removal.

SL-70 capping is fabricated using .093″ (2.4mm) thick 6063-T6 aluminum alloy extrusions for applications with frame depths of up to 6-3/4″ (171mm). For frame depths greater than 6-3/4″ (171mm) the SL-70 is formed from .062″ (1.6mm) thick aluminum sheet stock and can be supplied in any dimensions required. The vertical sections of our SL-70 are notched to receive the horizontal section to completely conceal the old frame. Both the vertical and horizontal sections are delivered oversized so butt ends can be field trimmed for an exact fit.

Doors with proper installation allow lifting up and then swing in or out for emergency access. Easy to install with assembly instructions; Includes all necessary hardware. Door size is referred to by door opening; actual doors are about 1/2- inch narrower to leave room for hinges and keeper hardware. Extra high quality, heavy duty hardware with a 15-year limited warranty. Standard hinges fit around the pilaster; Continuous hinges and hinges to attach flat to a wall are also available.
